Dr. Thomas Lee

Doctor of Dental Surgeon, Director

Thomas, after 31 years, retired from private practice in 2020 to fulfill his calling for full-time mission to Rwanda.
He has been on annual trips for the past seven years on short term summer mission to Rwanda.
Prior to serving as CEO and co-founder of His Hands On Africa, Thomas has served his community as a board of director of the North Valley YMCA, President of the Mission Hills Chamber of Commerce, instructor at the UCLA School of Dentistry, and a volunteer dentist at the LA Mission, serving the homeless.
He enjoys skiing, hiking, running,  traveling, photography, good food and listening to jazz.
He is Happily married to Lita since 1988, and has three grown children, Noelle (married to Harry), Nicholas and Nathan.

His Hands on Africa & Nyamata District Hospital

Compassion Community Dental Clinics (CCDC) will be established at strategic locations throughout Rwanda to provide much needed dental care to the people who have no access to dental care. Our first project is at Nyamata District Hospital, located in the district of Bugesera.

​His Hands On Africa (HHOA) Vision​

His Hands On Africa (HHOA) believes in equipping communities to achieve sustainability with dignity. 
To address the lack of dental services, HHOA has identified a three-fold approach in multi-year stages that is based on fostering
relationships with local communities and partnering with Rwandan citizens to invest in their future.

To bring the hope and healing of Jesus to the people of Africa, ​by raising up Christian dentists who will serve their communities through Gospel-centered health care

Compassion Community Dental Clinics

Compassion Community Dental Clinics (CCDC) will be established at strategic locations throughout Rwanda to provide much needed dental care to the people who have no access to dental care. Our first project is at Nyamata District Hospital, located in the district of Bugesera.  
 
Our clinic is the only public dental clinic with a dentist on staff to serve the district of over 400,000 people. 
We have completed the construction/remodel and we are waiting for the delivery of the dental equipment from the US. With three dental therapists and two dentists on staff, we will be able to make a significant impact in caring for the community.  Along with the delivery of dental care, the dental clinic staff will share the good news of Jesus Christ with our patients.  The community dental clinic will serve as a hub for our mobile clinic ministry and our short term dental mission teams.
